COVID 19 Job Retention Scheme changes
Major changes have been announced to the CJRS/furlough scheme.
The final date by which an employer can furlough an employee for the first time is 10 June in order that their three week period is completed by 30 June.
From 1 July employers can ask employees to come back to work from furlough, for any amount of time and any shift pattern. The CJRS grant can be claimed for their normal hours which are not worked.
From 1 July employers will need to contribute towards the wages of furloughed employees until the scheme ends on 31 October 2020.
